A delegation led by Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support, Aziz Nasirzadeh, arrived in Baku, where it was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Aliyev recalled his recent telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and noted that high-level contacts contribute to the development of bilateral relations. He emphasized the success of Pezeshkian’s visit to Azerbaijan last year and the further deepening of cooperation.
The Azerbaijani President noted that wars and conflicts continue in many regions of the world, while peace has already been established in the South Caucasus, which is also of great importance for Iran as a neighbor of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Aziz Nasirzadeh conveyed the greetings of the Iranian president to Aliyev. During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation in the defense sector.
