Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will attend the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity prize ceremony. Pashinyan announced this during Wednesday’s question-and-answer session with the government at the Parliament of Armenia.
Responding to a question about the connection between the Zayed Award and the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, Pashinyan assured that persons who are not the citizens of Armenia cannot participate in the country's political life, and in this case, the matter concerns international relations, as well as the results of the balance and balancing policy of Armenia.
Touching upon the topic of the Zayed Award, the Armenian premier said that one day he received a call informing him of receiving the award, which he accepted with gratitude. Pashinyan had previously learned about the award, established in 2019, from the media.
"It is a prestigious award. This year there are three laureates: myself, the president of Azerbaijan, and the Afghan women's rights defender," Pashinyan said, adding that he will attend the award ceremony and considers it a great honor to receive it.
Overall, the prime minister of Armenia believes that receiving this award is the result of teamwork and, most importantly, an achievement of the citizens of Armenia, and this would not have been possible without their support, trust, and approval.
