The act of armed aggression by the United States against Venezuela is causing deep concern, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, condemning Washington’s actions.
The statement stressed that Venezuela must be guaranteed the right to determine its own destiny without external interference. Russia expressed support for convening a UN Security Council meeting on Venezuela, as well as solidarity with the Venezuelan people and support for the course pursued by the country’s leadership.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the US military action against Venezuela, noting that it violates the fundamental principles of international law, including Article 2 of the UN Charter, which prohibits the use of force against sovereign states.
“Such an attack must be immediately and unequivocally condemned by the United Nations and by all states concerned with upholding the rule of law and preserving peace. It is the moral duty of all countries and international organizations to immediately stop US aggression,” the statement said.
