The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgolami, sent a New Year’s greeting, in which he stated:
“I congratulate the friendly and brotherly people and government of Armenia on the arrival of the New Year. I hope that 2026 will be a year of prosperity, peace, and great achievements for Armenia.
At the end of 2025, I arrived in Yerevan with great hopes, aiming to deepen the friendship and partnership between Iran and Armenia, as well as to develop a comprehensive strategic cooperation between our countries.
In 2025, we achieved significant progress in Iran-Armenia relations, including the historic visit of the President of Iran to Yerevan and the agreements reached on further cooperation.
In 2026, continuing the constructive course of the past, we will strive to get to know each other better, enhance interaction between our peoples, launch new projects and programs, and make the institutionalization of friendship a key priority.
Iran welcomes a prosperous and strong Armenia, at peace with its neighbors and ready to play an active role in the region. I sincerely appreciate the warm reception from the government and people of Armenia. Happy New Year!”
