Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received World and European weightlifting champion Nazik Avdalyan, the Prime Minister's Office reports.
Pashinyan highly appreciated Avdalyan’s personal contribution to representing Armenia in the best way on the international stage and to the development of sports in Armenia. The Prime Minister noted that sports development is one of the Government’s priorities and underlined the importance of cooperation with Avdalyan in this direction.
The World and European champion presented to the Prime Minister the programs of the “Nazik Avdalyan” Sports Development Foundation she founded, noting that their goal is to establish sports schools in the regions, thus contributing to the development of professional sports.
The Prime Minister proposed discussing the possibility of integrating the above-mentioned program with the Government’s initiative to establish sports centers in enlarged communities.
In this context, an agreement was reached to continue discussions with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
