The working visit of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, to the United States continues.
On December 3, in Glendale, California, the High Commissioner met with the Mayor of Glendale, Ara Najarian.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Sinanyan and Mayor Najarian discussed the Armenian community of Glendale, Armenia–Diaspora cooperation, as well as a range of issues related to the further development of Armenia–U.S. relations.
On the same day, the High Commissioner met with spiritual leaders of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America (AEUNA) in Glendale.
The leaders highlighted the importance of cohesion and cooperation in the Diaspora and expressed their readiness to continue supporting the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia.
High Commissioner Sinanyan presented the priorities and strategic vision of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the programs implemented by the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and the Government of Armenia across various sectors.
Later in the day, in Burbank, California, the High Commissioner met with His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. The discussion focused on the importance of spiritual values, the role of the Church, and key issues related to the preservation of Armenian identity in Armenia and across the Diaspora.
At the end of the day, High Commissioner Sinanyan met with the leadership and members of the Armenian Student Association at the University of California, engaging in an extensive discussion on key aspects of Armenia–Diaspora cooperation.
Responding to students’ questions, the High Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy and constructive dialogue with the Diaspora, and presented the initiatives, programs, and professional platforms implemented by the Office for youth engagement, highlighting the essential role of young Armenians in the development of the homeland.
