Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned on Monday that the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war poses a growing threat to the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.
In a statement following a government meeting, Erdogan was quoted by Anadolu Agency as saying, “Targeting commercial vessels in our exclusive economic zone is a matter of increasing concern”, SANA reports.
Erdogan emphasized, “We cannot, in any way, justify attacks that endanger the safety of navigation, particularly in our exclusive economic zone”. He added that Turkey has been closely monitoring recent developments aimed at ending the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and reiterated Turkey’s full readiness to offer any necessary support.
