The 2nd General Assembly and the Third Council Meeting of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia (ACHA) were held in Chongqing, China. Delegations from more than 20 member or observer countries of the alliance participated in the sessions.
According to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, the Armenian delegation was headed by Harutyun Vanyan, Head of the Department of Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the ministry. In his speech, he highlighted the efforts of the People's Republic of China aimed at preserving Asian cultural heritage.
According to Harutyun Vanyan, Armenia, as a founding member of ACHA, is willing to develop Armenian-Chinese cooperation in the field of cultural heritage preservation. The role of international organizations in preventing damage to cultural heritage as a result of conflicts was particularly emphasized.
During the sessions, the Secretary General of the Council was elected, and elections to the Council were also held, where, among other countries, Armenia was re-elected. The results of the grant announced by the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia were also presented.
The Republic of Armenia has received approximately AMD 32 million in support for the implementation of the project “The Silk Road Model from a Local Perspective: Revealing and Preservation of the Cultural Interconnection of Talin and Dashtadem.” The project was presented by the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
