Armenia highly appreciates the continuous, fruitful development of relations with Romania. We highlight the parliamentary, effective cooperation on the international platforms between the two countries, the work underway between the friendship groups. The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, the Head of the Armenia-Romania Sargis Khandanyan said this during the meeting with the delegation led by the Chair of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Senate of Romania Titus Corlățean. The meeting was held on November 24, in which the member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Eduard Aghajanyan and the member of the RA NA Armenia-Russia Friendship Group Sona Ghazaryan participated.
Sargis Khandanyan noted that the delegation visited Armenia during a historical important period for our country. Regarding the initialing of the Agreement on Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, 2025, the Committee Chair noted that peace has been established, which opens new perspectives for the whole region.
Thanking the Committee Chair on Foreign Relations for warm reception and words, the Chair of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Senate of Romania also emphasized the deepening of the development of Armenia-Romania relations. According to him, the relations between the two countries have a centuries-old history. Titus Corlățean highly evaluated the contribution of the Armenian community in the historical, economic, political and cultural development of Romania.
Both sides underscored the necessity of the development, deepening of the relations on various platforms.
Reference was made to the collaboration in all possible fields and the visa liberalisation process.
