On November 14, Ambassador Tigran Balayan, continuing a well-established tradition, delivered a lecture to the 2025–26 cohort of the European Union Diplomatic Academy.
In his introductory remarks, the Ambassador touched upon the Washington agreements of August 8, the Armenia–EU partnership agenda, the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” project, as well as regional developments and, in that context, Armenia’s expectations from the European Union.
The Ambassador particularly emphasized the importance of lasting peace, underscoring the imperative of the immediate return of the Armenian hostages being unlawfully held in Baku.
Following the lecture, a number of diplomats from EU member states and candidate countries, as well as representatives of EU institutions, addressed their questions to the Ambassador regarding Armenia’s foreign policy, cooperation with neighboring countries, and the European aspirations of Armenia’s population.
