Armenia’s Ambassador to Canada, Anahit Harutyunyan, participated in the inaugural meeting of the Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, which was formed as a result of the new session in the Canadian House of Commons, the Embassy of Armenia to Canada.
The Armenian Ambassador expressed her full support for the work of this group.
In her remarks, Ambassador Harutyunyan emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy has traditionally been one of the cornerstones of Armenian-Canadian relations. In this context, she highlighted the importance of Armenia’s active cooperation with Canadian partners as a country upholding the values of parliamentary democracy.
Harutyunyan thanked both the old and new members of the Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group for keeping issues of priority for Armenia and the Armenian people at the center of their attention.
Also, the ambassador presented the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy and the existing challenges.
Thanking Ambassador Harutyunyan for attending the meeting and delivering welcoming remarks, the aforesaid group’s chair, Michael Coteau, pledged to continue efforts in support of Armenian–Canadian relations.
