Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with members of the Bureau of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly who have arrived in Armenia for the upcoming 12th Ordinary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
The Prime Minister welcomed their visit and the holding of the Euronest PA plenary meeting in Yerevan.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that the session would be productive and emphasized the importance of active interparliamentary dialogue and cooperation, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a press release.
The Prime Minister touched upon the further development and deepening of relations between Armenia and the European Union. He noted that the Government of Armenia is consistently advancing democratic reforms with the support of the EU, including efforts to introduce European standards across various sectors. In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the continued financial, technical, and expert assistance provided by the European Union.
The process of normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan was also discussed. PM Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the fact that peace has been established and noted that a favorable atmosphere has now been created to continue the dialogue and discussions effectively.
The members of the Bureau of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly welcomed Armenia’s efforts toward implementing democratic reforms and deepening its relations with the European Union, noting that they also maintain close cooperation with their Armenian counterparts within the parliamentary framework. At the same time, they welcomed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and expressed hope that it would contribute to ensuring stability in the region and promoting cooperation.
The discussion also touched upon ongoing steps to unblock regional communication routes, the border delimitation process, and other related topics.
The 12th Ordinary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is scheduled to be held on 28-30 October, 2025 in Yerevan, Armenia.
