Congratulatory Message from the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia on the Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Armenia and India is issued. The message reads:
"Dear Friends,
On August 31 of this year, we mark the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of India. We highly value the centuries-old friendship formed between our nations, which is based on mutual respect, trust, and shared values. For the Republic of Armenia, India has always been a reliable partner and friend, with whom we strive to elevate our relations to a higher, strategic level.
Reaffirming our profound respect, I would like to emphasize that in recent years, our cooperation has been dynamically expanding, encompassing areas of active political dialogue and mutually beneficial collaboration in fields such as defense, information technologies, education, culture, and trade and economic interaction.
Reflecting on recent active engagements, I would like to highlight that since 2019, Armenia and India have been consistently developing high-level political, economic, cultural, and parliamentary cooperation. The Prime Ministers of both countries have held meetings on international platforms.
Notable milestones include visits to India by the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, the Secretary of the National Security Council as well as regular participation in prestigious forums such as the Raisina Dialogue and Yerevan Dialogue. A number of documents have been signed in the fields of diplomacy, healthcare, technology, and investment. Bilateral and trilateral consultations have taken place, and Armenia has joined the International Solar Alliance. Both countries attach great importance to expanding ties in trade, technology, and culture, while maintaining regular dialogue on regional and global security issues.
Armenia and India have preserved vital cooperation for centuries, based on our historical and cultural ties. Armenian communities that existed in India from the 17th to 19th centuries played a significant role in the development of trade and cultural dialogue. It was in India where the first Armenian Constitution, Vorogayt Parats (Snare of Glory), was created and where the first Armenian periodical Azdarar was published - both of which became key milestones in the spread of Enlightenment ideas.
This symbolic day offers an opportunity to bring new meaning to our cooperation. There are expectations to enhance transport connectivity, expand trade volumes, deepen bilateral cooperation, and develop such promising areas as green energy, road infrastructure, tourism, and medical collaboration. By implementing effective mechanisms for interaction among business communities, it will also be possible to engage even more interesting sectors, giving our bilateral friendly relations a stronger and more forward-looking character.
Armenia is determined to make continuous efforts toward the deepening of bilateral relations and is confident that through joint efforts, we can achieve new accomplishments for the further well-being of our peoples.
I wish lasting peace and continued success to our two friendly nations.
With respect and best wishes,
Vahagn AFYAN
Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia"
