The process of normalizing of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be said to be completed, and the signed documents fully ensure our interests, Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev said, Azerbaijani media reports.
"We [i.e. Azerbaijan] have achieved what we wanted, the hated [OSCE] Minsk Group is already living its last days. In fact, it was inoperative and could not function. However, legally it existed, and now its end is approaching. We are also the authors of the peace agreement with Armenia, and our position has always served as the basis for drafting those clauses. The fact that this document has been initialed [in Washington on August 8] actually puts an end to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict," Aliyev said.
