Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Wednesday he doesn’t rule out that there could be “some circles” in Russia who are behind the "hybrid war" in Armenia.
Pashinyan was asked at a press briefing to comment on assessments by some officials who consider Russia-based Armenian business tycoon Samvel Karapetyan’s latest statement as “Russia’s hybrid war against Armenia.”
Pashinyan said he has very close working relations based on mutual trust with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“I cannot believe that such an action could take place against Armenia from the Kremlin or the Russian government, but I don’t rule out, and there is a big likelihood, that nevertheless there are some circles in Russia who are behind these hybrid actions and hybrid war. Moreover, not only in Russia. I am sure that in this specific case there are such circles in other countries too,” Pashinyan said.
The PM expressed certainty that Armenia has the capability to manage the hybrid risks, among others.
