Reuters. Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday (June 12) that Iran will "not submit to force" after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) declared Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations.
Speaking in the city of Ilam, Pezeshkian accused the U.S. and Europe of imposing sanctions and pressure to hinder Iran's progress. "They are doing this because they (America and the West) think that they can stop our progress with these pressures," he said.
The U.N. nuclear watchdog's board of governors declared Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations on Thursday and Tehran announced counter-measures, as an Iranian official said a "friendly country" had warned it of a potential Israeli attack.
U.S. and Iranian officials will hold a sixth round of talks on Tehran's accelerating uranium enrichment programme in Oman on Sunday (June 15), the Omani foreign minister said on Thursday.
