Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko and her delegation visited the Victory Park in Yerevan during her official trip to Armenia.
She was accompanied by Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan.Matviyenko placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame commemorating the victims of the WWII, Sputnik Armenia reported.
The Russian top senator arrived in Armenia on an official visit on June 5.The 39th session of the Armenia-Russia interparliamentary cooperation commission will take place on June 6.
Later on the same day, Matviyenko and Simonyan will then participate in the 10th Armenian-Russian interregional forum.
