Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a statement on Thursday, May 8, to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between their two countries.
“At today's talks, cooperation in the field of politics and security, economic ties, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges were discussed in detail. As a result, as you have just seen, a solid package of documents has been signed. Mr. Xi Jinping and I have set ambitious goals in our joint statement", Putin said.
China's President Xi Jinping in turn said Thursday he had held "in-depth, cordial, and fruitful" talks with Russia's Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
"It is crucial to further deepen multifaceted practical cooperation and strengthen the material base of comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of our countries and in the interests of stimulating global development. Despite the turbulence in the international situation, China and Russia will remain committed to the spirit of eternal good neighborliness and comprehensive strategic cooperation", Chinese president underlined.
