In the period leading up to October 6, 2022, having seen the developments, I told our CSTO partners that I saw a risk of an attack on the sovereign territory of Armenia. Our CSTO partners said that they did not consider this possible, but especially that Armenia's borders were a “red line” for them. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session.
"When the September 2022 war took place, when there was an invasion of Armenia's territory, and it wasn't the first, before that there were the events of November 2021, the events of May 2021, I considered that dialogue I'm telling you directly disrespectful to Armenia. And I, yes, made a decision that the government of Armenia should recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia.
Those who have not yet recorded what happened on October 6, 2022, I must record again. On October 6, 2022, no matter how absurd it may sound, the Prime Minister of Armenia recognized the territorial integrity of Armenia. Yes, also the territorial integrity of the neighbors because the territorial integrity of our country is encompassed by the territorial integrity of our neighbors," Pashinyan said.
