Armenia's Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan has met with Valérie Pécresse, the President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France region.The ambassador thanked Valérie Pécresse for her constant attention towards Armenian affairs and the continuous support and solidarity towards the Armenian people.
“The Armenian ambassador lauded the adoption of resolutions and several initiatives by the Regional Council of Île-de-France for the benefit of Armenia and the Armenian people,” the embassy said in a readout.
The effective cooperation between Yerevan and Île-de-France in urban development, transportation, waste management, Francophonie and other areas was discussed.“The importance of enhancing the partnership and continuing it institutionally was emphasized,” the embassy said.
Pécresse reiterated the regional council’s commitment to continue strengthening the French-Armenian friendship and develop partnership.The Ambassador also presented the Armenian government’s approach in establishing lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus and addressed the urgent issue of achieving the release of the unlawfully held ethnic Armenian prisoners of war, captives and other detainees in Azerbaijan.
