Armenia offers Azerbaijan to sign a peace treaty based on already agreed principles, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan repeated. A question was asked about the possibility of delegating the control of the section of the Baku-Nakhijevan road passing through Syunik to a private company in case of unblocking the communication channels.
"I don't stop being surprised all the time: how the fact, the reality changes from article to article, from opinion to opinion, one word is added, then another word is added, then something that does not really exist begins to be widely circulated, and it is the opinion of some ‘independent’ experts or politicians, presented as reality by analysts. Nothing, that involves creating a ‘corridor’ and handing over control to another party, is discussed. We have said that the presence of third powers and control by third powers is excluded for Armenia, it is unacceptable for us. Nothing has changed in our position.
It's about something else entirely. In fact, in order to increase people’s sense of security, we could involve a private security company to accompany cargo or passengers in the train. This is what we are talking about, and it is only one of the options to be discussed. The presence of neither a state third party nor a private one located along the infrastructure to be unblocked was not acceptable to us, and there is none now," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
