During the briefing held in the National Assembly, journalists asked Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, about the intention of the Azerbaijani side to visit the Drmbon and Kashen mines located in the Martakert region, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
“Azerbaijani authorities are carrying out well-planned provocative actions, creating tension in Artsakh. Of course, the expectation is that the tension will be transferred to Armenia as well. I think it is necessary to be cold-hearted. Their wishes are their wishes, our goals remain the same: a safe life for our Artsakh compatriots and building a security environment in the joint security area of Armenia and Artsakh," said Kocharyan.
As reported by Artsakh information center, the visit was allowed by the command of the Russian peacekeeping troops, but it was not coordinated with the Artsakh authorities.
"Ultimately, the problem was solved with the participation of peacekeeping forces. The peacekeeping forces have a peacekeeping mission to neutralize such tensions," said Kocharyan.
