Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during today's press conference that he and Armenian Special Representative in the Armenia-Turkey dialogue process Ruben Rubinyan are invited to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum. At the same time, Mirzoyan informed that a final decision on this issue has not been made yet.
"We have just discussed the event with Mr. Schallenberg. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has not yet made a decision on this issue, the issue is being discussed. I want to note that this is not a bilateral visit, it should not be considered in a bilateral context. This is an international diplomatic event that Armenia may decide to participate in. I do not see any problem here, and besides I think that even if we connect it with the Armenia-Turkey dialogue, it has nothing but positive shades,” Mirzoyan said.
Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg added that he was not sure whether they would meet at the Antalya forum, but encouraged the participation of Armenian representatives.
“I think inviting partners from the region was a good gesture,” he said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey has invited Armenia to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
Armenian Foreign Ministry later stated that Armenia had received an invitation to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, and the expediency of participation was being discussed.
