Russian peacekeepers provided humanitarian assistance to residents of a remote region of Nagorno-Karabakh

Specialists of the humanitarian response center of the Russian  peacekeeping contingent provided humanitarian assistance to residents and displaced persons in Basara settlement, Askeran region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The peacekeepers carried out a humanitarian action in school. A humanitarian cargo with a total weight of about 1 ton was handed over to the residents, including children's and adult shoes, warm clothes and household items, school kits for students, as well as eight household kits to families in need.

From Moscow, humanitarian cargo from charitable organizations was delivered by a military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces and by road transport of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from the Erebuni military airfield (Republic of Armenia) to Stepanakert to the warehouses of the peacekeeping forces.

Since November 2020, the military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent with benefactors have provided more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid to displaced persons, large families and residents in need in cities and remote settlements, schools, kindergartens and boarding schools of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Russian peacekeepers regularly hold events to work with local residents, collect information on those most in need of assistance, interact with charitable organizations and transfer necessary humanitarian aid to children's educational institutions and families in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 (Moscow time) on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

To monitor the ceasefire and military operations, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
