Former commander of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov positively assessed the work of the Russian peacekeepers, TASS reports.
“I assess the activity of the Russian peacekeeping mission quite positively. The civilian population appreciates the work we do. Today, life in Karabakh is in full swing. There are, of course, very difficult issues, but the process continues - the return of people, the solution of a number of problematic issues. Therefore, I believe everything will be fine,” Muradov said.
The Lieutenant General stressed that the Russian peacekeepers will be in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh for 5 years, as the statement signed by the leaders of the three states supposes.
“In the future, a decision will be made on the further deployment of the Russian peacekeeping force,” he told TASS.
Rustam Muradov has completed his mission as commander of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Nagorno-Karabakh. Major General Mikhail Kosobokov has become the commander of the Russian peacekeeping mission in the region.
