The Crimean Tatar delegation has called on Turkey to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, RIA Novosti reported.
The head of the national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars Eyvaz Umerov urged the Turkish leadership not to turn the support of the Crimean Tatars into political PR, to recognize the peninsula as part of the Russian Federation.
Umerov noted that if Ankara wants to put the Turkish Republic of Cyprus up for auction, it is “their business.” “We do not need to run after anyone,” said a representative of the Crimean Tatars.
Earlier, Hasan Ünal, a professor at the Turkish University, told the media that the Russian-Turkish side could reach an agreement on the peninsula if Moscow recognizes the occupied Northern Cyprus as an independent state.
