Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and Baku Mayor Eldar Azizov signed a memorandum recognizing the two capitals as sister cities, sputnik-georgia reports.
“There are long-term partnerships between our cities. I hope that the memorandum will make a great contribution to deepening the centuries-old relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan,” Kaladze said.
The memorandum includes cooperation between cities in the fields of culture, tourism, urban development, environment, transport, information technology, energy efficiency and waste management.
