Armenia Government will work on three big programs to support Artsakh within the year: Deputy prime Minister Mher Grigoryan says

The 2020 was a tense year for Armenia. The Government acted under the state of emergency and carried out targeted measures in all spheres. RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said during the discussion of the Government’s 2020 report at the National Assembly.

He spoke about two main directions: Artsakh support and coronavirus prevention programs.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that there are about two dozen programs to support Artsakh, some of which are still going on.

Particularly, the measure called ‘Bridge’ which provides AMD 500 thousand (over $930) for the support of missing servicemen for six months. Support for mutilated servicemen for six months, tripling the AMD 100 thousand (over $186) provided by the Military Fund, the total amount is AMD 200 million (about $372,440).

Two programs to support host families: monthly compensation of AMD 30,000 (about $56) in Armenia, AMD 45,000 (about $84) in Artsakh. AMD 1.1 billion (over $2 million 48 thousand) has already been paid for that purpose.

One hundred percent payment of tuition for one semester of the academic year –AMD 900 million (about $1,676,000).

One-time assistance to the families of deceased and injured civilians - AMD1-5 million (over $1,862-$9,310) - 56 beneficiaries now, AMD 200 million (about $372,440) paid.

Assistance to wounded servicemen – 6,500 beneficiaries, AMD 3.3 billion (about $6 million 145 thousand) paid.

One-time assistance to the residents of Shurnukh and Vorotan communities of Syunik province - AMD 300,000 (about $560), also - AMD 68,000 (about $127) - within 6 months - 35 beneficiaries, AMD 15 million (about $28,000).

Compensation for real estate damaged by the war in Armenia - 77 beneficiaries – AMD 50 million (over $93,000).

Assistance program for people registered in Artsakh, which, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, is the largest program, it is about the program for support of women and children, AMD 5.3 billion (about $9, 870,000) paid.

A one-time payment program of AMD 300,000 (about $560) to the people, the settlements of which are out of Artsakh’s control, AMD 10.2 billion (about $18,995,000) paid.

One-time assistance to people who lost real estate in Artsakh – AMD 250 thousand (about $466), AMD 1.3 billion (about $2,421,000).

Support to children under five in Artsakh, AMD 300 million (about $558,660).

Grigoryan noted that AMD 6 billion (over $11,173,000) had been provided to the Artsakh Government in the form of a grant.

Grigoryan said that the Armenian government will allocate AMD 52 billion (about $96,835,000) for the housing program in Artsakh. According to him, there will be a program to support natural persons and legal entities who have suffered property damage, which, according to him, will be approved by the Government of Artsakh by the end of the month, the Armenian Government will fund that program.

Thus, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, there are three major programs in support of Artsakh: social assistance, housing, and compensation for damages. “We will work within the framework of these three programs all year round,” Grigoryan emphasized.
