On February 19, the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazian had a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, expressing satisfaction with the high level of Armenian-Indian relations based on traditional friendship and mutual understanding.
The Foreign Ministers stressed the mutual support and close cooperation formed between Armenia and India within the framework of international structures. In this context, Minister Aivazian congratulated Minister Jaishankar on India's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, expressing confidence that this membership would serve the common goals of peace and security.
The ministers Aivazian and Jaishankar touched upon issues of security and peace in each other's regions. Both sides stressed the need for a peaceful settlement of the conflicts, which addresses the interests of all. In this regard, Ara Aivazian thanked his colleague for the solidarity shown to the Armenian people during Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and India also exchanged views on overcoming the COVID-19 epidemic and international cooperation in that process.
