The CSTO has acted in accordance with the basic agreement on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, The Secretary General of the organization Stanislav Zas stated, Belta reports.
"We have a basic agreement on collective security, which clearly defines the conditions and procedure for using the CSTO capabilities to help this or that state", Zas said.
According to the CSTO Secretary General, the document clearly states that in case of aggression - a military attack, which threatens the security, stability, territorial integrity, sovereignty of any member state, the country will immediately receive comprehensive assistance, including military assistance.
"In this situation, Armenia did not apply to the CSTO for military assistance. Therefore, the mechanism did not work", said Stanislav Zas.
