The goal of the #Aid4Artsakh fundraising campaign was to raise $ 5 million for Artsakh and Armenia over six weeks, and the AGBU was committed to doubling the amount to $ 5 million. This was reported by the AGBU press service.
"However, due to the rapid, large number of donations received from different parts of the Armenian world, we reached the milestone in 4 days, as a result of which the doubling of the fundraising component ended at midnight on October 9.
At the moment, $ 5,400,000 has been raised. The AGBU will increase $ 5,000,000 and transfer $ 10,400,000 to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. All will be donated to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, and new donations will not be doubled.
"The money raised as a result of this initiative will be used to provide for the vital needs of the civilian population, to provide humanitarian assistance and ambulance equipment to save lives," the statement said.
"This immediate, natural response to mass aid is a powerful, heartfelt message to those at risk, to those whose families are defending their nation and homeland. That message is, "You are not alone, we stand as one Armenian nation," said AGBU President Perch Sedrakyan.
Haykak Arshamyan, Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, responding to the news, noted: We find no words to thank the AGBU for its initiative to redouble these donations at its own expense, as well as for launching its worldwide arsenal of communications with old and new, near and far donors.
Those wishing to make a donation for the first time or again to continue their humanitarian assistance in Artsakh or Armenia, can make donations on the himnadram.org or agbu.org/aid4artsakh websites.
