The will of the Armenian people to have a sovereign and powerful state is stronger than ever. Pashinyan

The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Independence Day․ The message reads:

"Dear people, proud citizens of the Republic of Armenia, proud citizens of the Artsakh Republic, proud Armenians of the Diaspora, I congratulate all of us on the occasion of Armenia's Independence Day.

With the referendum held on this day 29 years ago, our people unanimously established the independence of Armenia. The referendum of September 21, 1991, is one of the most important events in the history of our people, which started in 1988 with the Artsakh movement. The results of the referendum signaled to the whole world the free will of the Armenian people to have an independent and democratic state.

Over the past 29 years, we have faced many trials together: war, socio-economic difficulties, emigration, rigged elections, "October 27", political repression, "March 1", crisis situations and despair.

All these difficulties, however, could not break the Armenian people. The non-violent, velvet, people's revolution of 2018 became an eloquent expression of state optimism, civic determination, which proved that the will of the Armenian people to have a sovereign, free, powerful and happy state is stronger than ever.

A sovereign and free state, the eternity of that state is now at the core of the national agenda of the Armenian people, and we must focus all our efforts on the daily service of this agenda.

Dear compatriots, today I will publish the transformation strategy of Armenia until 2050, which is not a non-viable document, but a mechanism to discuss, clarify, make implementation decisions and monitor the implementation process of our ideas, goals, ways to achieve those goals in the Republic of Armenia in 2050.

I believe that with this we enter a new phase of our state life, when we govern the state by strategic logic, when every decision made today has not only current, but also 10, 20, 30 years strategic goals and objectives. This is a mechanism that should make  discussions about future, planning and construction on future an integral part of our daily work.

In 1991, we did not know what Armenia would be like in 2020, and due to many objective and subjective circumstances, we did not take the time to formulate our ideas about today and make their implementation a daily task.

But time inevitably puts us in front of such a problem. We cannot wait for 2050 or 2100 to see how Armenia has become. We must plan that Armenia, design and build it from today. Accordingly, from the sometimes frustrating and confusing torrent of many and varied issues of the day, we must give priority to those which connect us with 2050, 2100 Armenia.

The citizen of the Republic of Armenia celebrating the 100th anniversary of independence must see that we had cared not only about ourselves, but also about himself. He must feel our compassion and responsibility for the future of Armenia, that is, for his present. He must see our dreams of that day have came true.

I am convinced that we have enough will, skill, unity and wisdom to fill our daily agenda with such work and to provide unshakable institutional conditions for the eternity of Armenia and the Armenian people. This is the key mission of our generation, and we will accomplish that mission together.

And so,

Long live Freedom,

Long live the Republic of Armenia,

Long live us, our children, who live and will live in a Free and Happy Armenia”.
