“In the coming 5 years we need to develop a project vision, which will be set for a 50-year horizon and will target the indices that are leading us to future Armenia, a strong and safe country”, said President Sargsyan at parliament.
“In the coming 5 years we need to develop a project vision, which will be set for a 50-year horizon and will target the indices that are leading us to future Armenia, a strong and safe country”, said President Sargsyan at parliament. He also stated, a country with 25 years of statehood, must learn to look further and have long-term prospects apart from its present actions. One of the major problems the president sees is changing the demographic situation of the country throughout the next decades. He also pointed out the directions which will ensure maximum population growth in the next 25 years and even after.
“In this regard, we can take three phases of actions – termination of emigration, increase birth rate and extend life expectancy, as well as creation of preconditions to make emigrant repatriate. As a result of rapid improvement in demographics, we should at least reach a population of 4 million by 2040”, said the president.
