RA president signed a decree on dismissing Vigen Sargsyan from the post of Chief of Staff of Presidential Administration, instead appointing to the post of Defense Minister.

RA president signed a decree on dismissing Vigen Sargsyan from the post of Chief of Staff of Presidential Administration, instead appointing to the post of Defense Minister.

Vigen A. Sargsyan was born on May 10th, 1975. He has acted as Chief of Staff of Presidential Administration starting from October 17, 2011. Below we present Vigen Sarsyan's Biography:

In 2009 – 11 Deputy Chief of Staff of Presidential Administration

2003– 09 Assistant to RA President

2000 – 03 Served in the Armenian Armed Forces

1995 – 98 Worked at National Assembly, as an Assistant to the parliament Speaker, then becoming an Advisor

Member of “Luys”(Light) Foundation board of Trustees

Married, with three daughters

Edward Nalbandyan has been re-appointed to the post of Foreign Minister. Armen Gevorgyan was dismissed from the post of Secretary of Security Council, thus being appointed the new Chief of Staff to Presidential Administration.

Armen A. Gevorgyan was born on July 8th, 1973.

In 1997-98 served as Assistant to the Prime Minister of Armenia.

In April of 1998 he was appointed Assistant to the President of Armenia, then the First Assistant to the President of Armenia, Deputy Chief of Presidential Staff.

In 2006 was appointed Chief of Staff of the President of Armenia.

2007-08 served as Secretary of the National Security Council.

In 2008 was appointed to the post of the Vice Prime Minister of Armenia, Minister for Territorial Administration, member of Economic Council of CIS countries, Special Representative of the President on the issues of cooperation with CIS countries.

Starting from 2015 has been heading the Development Initiative of Armenia Charity Fund.

In August-From August - November 2015 Armen Geovrgyan participated in the educational program on General Administration of School of Business at Harvard University (USA).

Since June 6, 2016 has been serving as the Secretary of the National Security Council.

Yuri Khachaturov has been appointed as Secretary of National Security, following his dismissal from the post of Chief of General Staff of RA Armed Forces.

Yuri G. Khachaturov was born in Georgia in 1952.

In 1974 was appointed as a Fire Platoon Leader, Artillery Regiment of Motorized Rifle Division, Far East Military District. 

In 1976- 82 held the posts of Battery Commander, Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the Artillery Battalion, Commander of Detached Anti-tank Artillery Battalion in the Far East Military District. 

1987- 89 served in Afghanistan

In 1989 was appointed the Commander of Detached Artillery Brigade of the Tank Army in Belarus Military District. 

In 1992 Commander of Detached Artillery Brigade of the Tank Army in Belarus Military District. 
In April 1992 by the order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus he transferred under the command of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and was appointed the Commander of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Regiment. 

In 1992 Head of Border Guard Troops - Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. 

He has also held the posts of Operative Direction Commander and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces.

2008 was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense. 

Married, with three sons.

Movses Hakobyan has been dismissed from the post of Deputy Defense Minister, Head of the Logistics Department of the Ministry of Defense, instead, based on a  decree signed by RA President, Movses Hakobyan has been appointed to the post of  Chief of General Staff of RA Armed Forces.

He was born in 1965 , village of Chartar, Martuni region, NKR.

In 1988 - 92 served as battalion commander in the 366th motor-rifle regiment of USSR Armed Forces 4th Army.

1992 - 94 partook in the military operations.

In 1992 - 99 has held a series of commanding positions in different military units.

In 1999 was appointed Deputy Commander of Army combat training 

2000 First Deputy Commander of Defense Army

2001 - 02 studied at the Military Academy of General Staff of Russian Federation.  

In 2002 was appointed RA Defense Ministry advisor, in July 2003 was appointed 2000 First Deputy Commander of Defense Army  as well as Chief of general Staff, in 2007 was appointed commander of NKR Defense Ministry and Defense Army.

2007 received military rank of Lieutenant General

In 2015 based on the decree signed by NKR President, was dismissed from the post of commander of NKR Defense Ministry and Defense Army.

In 2015 he was appointed Deputy Head of the Armenian Armed Forces’ General Headquarters

On May 20th, 2016 RA President signed a decree appointing Movses Hakobyan to the post of Deputy Defense Minister, Head of the Logistics Department of the Ministry of Defense.
