The full staff of the group Genealogy is already known, the premiere of the song “Don’t Deny” was held a while ago. The 6th participant of the group is the beloved and renowned singer, Honored Singer of the Republic of Armenia Inga Arshakyan: on the Eurovision stage she will unite the 5 members of the group symbolizing the 5 continents of the world – Essaï Altounian, Tamar Kaprelian, Vahe Tilbian, Stephanie Topalian and Mary-Jean O’Doherty Vasmatzian. Music and the roots, love and solidarity unite the 6 singers of different styles.

This year Armenia will be represented in the contest with the song “Don’t Deny”. The song is about universal values. “Happiness is born when people live in harmony with themselves, their families, love relationships and so on. Generations are shifting with time but the genealogy remains, thus the values of love and peace are stable.”
The composer of the song is Armen Martirosyan, and the lyricist is Inna Mkrtchyan. The first video clip of the group Genealogy is directed by Aren Bayadyan. The idea of genealogy is in the basis of the video: the presented dynasty is looked upon as a symbol of humanity. The phenomenon of the generation shift is also accentuated: the new generations constantly replace the older ones, continuing to bear the traditions and values.
As a link the creative team has used the process of embroidery of an Armenian miniature ornament. The bird symbolizing peace, freedom and good news holds a branch of tree in the mouth, which is associated with the idea of spread of peace and good news in the dynasty – in the world, unity and preservation of nations.
According to the director of the music video Aren Bayadyan, the creative team has been inspired especially by the group’s name and logo, the tree of life, which they have tried to get in a mystic and mysterious way by the look of the pavilion. Like the 6 Armenian participants of the group are spread throughout the world, so the tree branches have become walls between the time and the generations. But neither space nor difficulties can become an obstacle, if people want to be together.
Armen Galyan, the stylist of the music video, has attempted to combine the European and Armenian fashion trends giving up-to-date solutions. “When saying ‘genealogy’, retro photos and the tree of life come into one’s mind. Cloths with a fashionable simple cut, of a larger size, with accentuated shoulders, slightly Gothic, as well as Armenian traditional costumes have been made for the video clip, complemented by Armenian silver works of art. Badges with old photos of our participants’ grandmothers and grandfathers and with Armenian architectural ornaments have been used, which are fashionable, too.
According to Gohar Gasparyan, the head of the Armenian delegation, besides the members of the group, famous actors and artists have played in the role of the members of the big family symbolizing the world. “The screenings lasted 2 long but swift days, because our singers were in Armenia for a short time, and there was much work to do. We have collaborated with a professional video production team, and the result is stunning. We find that the video of this style will be a novelty within the frameworks of the Eurovision.
