The official opening of the Black Sea Silk Road Corridor (BSSRC) tourist route took place in Yerevan. The Black Sea Silk Road Corridor is a 3000 km long tourist route, which stretches from Salonic (Thessaloniki) to Meghri (Armenia). This is the first one out of the 4 interregional events.
The others will be conducted in 3 other countries. The corridor involves over 150 sights with informative panels and guide signs.
The Silk Road, or Silk Route, was a series of trade and cultural transmission routes that were central to cultural interaction through regions of the Asian continent connecting the West and East by linking traders, merchants, pilgrims, monks, soldiers, nomads, and urban dwellers from China and India to the Mediterranean Sea.
With the old example, the new route is aimed at developing commercial and tourist ties.
