Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Nobel Prize-winning economist and one of the world’s leading economists, Abhijit Banerjee, the Armenian government said.
Welcoming Banerjee to Armenia, Pashinyan highlighted the importance of cooperation in policy development, assessing the impact of government programs and other areas.
The Prime Minister said the Armenian government is implementing large-scale reforms across all sectors. In this context, he stressed the need for active dialogue and exchange of expertise between Banerjee and various Armenian government agencies, as well as the Central Bank of Armenia.
Banerjee thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Armenian partners with a view to making the country’s reforms more effective.
The sides also exchanged views on issues related to further cooperation.
