The EU’s trade deficit with China has now reached nearly €1 billion a day, said Kaja Kallas.
“China controls the most important links in our supply chains. Our dependence on China exceeds 80% for many key raw materials and 90% for some rare metals. We have seen that these dependencies can be used as a tool of pressure. When dialogue is not enough, we must be ready to use the full range of tools at our disposal,” the EU’s foreign policy chief said.
