Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that he has disagreements with Donald Trump over the mechanisms for resolving the situation in Gaza. According to Netanyahu, Hamas must be fully disarmed before the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip can begin.
Earlier, the U.S.-initiated Board of Peace confirmed that Hamas had formally committed to disarmament, to be followed by the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from Gaza. Israeli officials, however, stated that such an arrangement does not serve the interests of the Jewish state and that military operations must continue until Hamas is completely neutralized.
Amid the continuing attacks in Gaza and Israel's position, Egypt, Türkiye, and Qatar issued a joint statement condemning Israel for violating the ceasefire. The three countries called on Israel to ensure the protection of civilians, medical personnel, and humanitarian missions, and urged the international community to increase pressure on the Jewish state.
Hamas also stated that Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip are intended to undermine the agreements reached with mediators, including the U.S. administration. The Palestinian movement called on the mediators to take immediate action.
