Members of new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's government arrived at 10 Downing Street on Monday as the incoming cabinet began taking shape after his appointment.
Education Secretary Lucy Powell and Housing Secretary Angela Rayner were among Labour lawmakers seen arriving at the prime minister's official residence, while some roles, including that of former Health Secretary Wes Streeting, remained unconfirmed.
Burnham, 56, took office after Keir Starmer resigned following growing discontent among Labour lawmakers over his leadership. The former mayor of Greater Manchester was chosen by Labour MPs to replace him.
Burnham later named key ministers, including John Healey as finance minister, Ed Miliband as foreign minister, and Shabana Mahmood as interior minister. Burnham appointed Wes Streeting as Secretary of State for Defence and Miatta Fahnbulleh as Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, his office said on Monday, Reuters reports.
