Armenia's President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the French Embassy to Armenia on the occasion of the national holiday of the French Republic, Bastille Day.
The President congratulated Ambassador Olivier Decottignies and, through him, President Emmanuel Macron and the friendly people of France, wishing them peace, success, and prosperity.
Emphasizing the special nature of Armenian-French relations, among other issues, the President of the Republic particularly referred to the importance of high-level visits, recalling President Macron’s state visit to Armenia in May of this year, which was successfully carried out and gave new momentum and substance to the bilateral agenda.
The parties discussed programs being implemented by France in the Syunik Province, both at the central and local government levels, and also emphasized deepening cooperation in the fields of the defense industry, high technologies, and AI.
President Khachaturyan referred to the progress of the Armenia-EU strategic partnership, specifically highlighting France’s role in that agenda.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the President of the Republic’s visit, the good wishes, and the support shown in promoting bilateral relations.
