Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, met on Tuesday, June 16, with Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Moscow ahead of their talks on bilateral relations and regional security in the Caucasus and Ukraine.
"We value the sincere interest of our Turkish friends in helping to find a just, sustainable, and long-term settlement of the situation around Ukraine," Lavrov said.
Fidan replied by saying that Turkey will provide any needed support on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
"Turkey will continue to provide every kind of support for the resolution of the Ukraine issue, will contribute to any mediation role, and will continue to play whatever mediation roles it can. Because the ongoing war is further increasing instability in our region. This must come to an end as soon as possible," Fidan stated.
