Yesterday, Iran shot down an American Apache attack helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States launched retaliatory strikes against Iran. The American military explained that the attacks targeted Iranian air defense systems, ground control centers and radar stations.
Three hours after the start of the series of strikes, the US Central Command announced the end of the mission. In an interview with ABC News, US President Donald Trump warned that retaliatory strikes against Iran would be "very strong".
In response to the new wave of American strikes, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced strikes on 21 targets at US bases in the region, including in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait.
Iran did not directly announce that its forces shot down the American helicopter, but Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, shortly after Trump's announcement, called on foreign troops to leave the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding areas, warning that they were in danger.
