Senior Iranian officials have issued coordinated statements emphasizing national unity and dismissing reports of internal political divisions amid ongoing regional tensions, Reuters reports.
President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on the social media platform X that there is no distinction between “hardline” and “moderate” forces in Iran, describing all Iranians as “revolutionary” and calling for national unity under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
“With the iron unity of the nation and state and obedience to the Supreme Leader, we will make the aggressor regret it,” he wrote.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also supported the message, saying that Iranian institutions are acting “unified, purposeful, and disciplined,” and describing military and diplomatic efforts as “fully coordinated fronts in the same war.”
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf pledged that Iran would respond collectively to external aggression, reiterating loyalty to the Supreme Leader.
According to Reuters, these statements underline a unified position by Iran’s political leadership amid escalating regional tensions, including military operations along Israel’s northern borders and ongoing U.S. diplomatic efforts to contain escalation in Lebanon.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that there is confusion within Iran’s leadership and that it is not yet clear who is in charge.
He also claimed there is internal struggle in the Islamic Republic between “hardliners and moderates.”
