Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that Iran appreciates Pakistan’s efforts and initiatives to end the imposed war and establish peace in the region.
"We affirm Iran’s readiness to defend itself and confront any aggression or threat," he said.
Baghaei noted that Iran did not initiate the war, and all its actions fall within its legitimate right to respond to aggression, adding that Iran is closely monitoring field and political developments and will take the necessary measures to safeguard its interests and national security.
He said that Iranian armed forces are on full alert and at maximum readiness to carry out a comprehensive and decisive defense of Iran’s sovereignty against any aggression.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson affirmed that diplomacy is a tool to achieve national interests and security, adding that Iran will use it when we see that the necessary and reasonable conditions for its use are in place.
