The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched a series of strikes in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement in place.
The command said the strikes were launched to eliminate an immediate threat from armed groups that had violated the agreements and approached Israeli positions.
The operation involved air, artillery and ground units. The IDF stressed that the ceasefire regime does not limit the army's right to self-defense, and Israeli forces will continue to clear the territories under their control of any terrorist infrastructure.
