“We have a fairly dynamic, positive, and promising dialogue with Turkey. There is also certain work being carried out on the ground,” Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a session of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, emphasizing in this context that discussions have taken place regarding the launch of the Gyumri-Kars railway and road.
“Work on the ground has continued. For example, there is a joint task force for the reopening of the Gyumri-Kars railway. This task force has held two meetings. They have visited the sites, examined the infrastructure on this side and on the other side.
Even in the cultural sphere, discussions are now underway, and legal frameworks are being clarified, or we are trying to understand the mechanisms-for example, regarding the possibility of jointly restoring Ani or the historic bridge.
There are even discussions about the possibility of introducing scholarships for each other’s students in the universities of the two countries,” he said.
