Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz on Saturday (March 21) said that the Israeli and U.S. attacks against Iran 'will be stepped up significantly' in the coming days, Reuters reports.
In a video distributed by the ministry of defence, Katz, seated between two senior army officers, added that Israel is determined to "continue leading the attack against the Iranian terrorist regime, to behead its commanders and to thwart its strategic capabilities," until all threats to Israel and U.S. interests in the region are removed.
Israel and Iran attacked each other on Saturday as the U.S. was sending thousands more Marines to the Middle East and U.S. President Donald Trump accused NATO allies of cowardice over their reluctance to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
More than 2,000 people have been killed since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, while global energy prices have surged and concerns about a drawn-out regional conflict were increasing.
