President Khachaturyan noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Armenia–Japan ties have developed based on shared democratic values and respect for human rights.
“As a newly independent country at that time, and today as a democratic state, we have learned and will continue to learn from our Japanese partners how to rely on democratic values, develop the economy, and improve the living standards of our citizens,” the President said.
Ambassador Yutaka expressed gratitude for the warm reception and good wishes.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Armenia–Japan partnership and opportunities for implementing joint projects. Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation in political, economic, and high-tech spheres.
The humanitarian assistance provided by Japan was also highlighted. The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in disaster prevention and management, as well as implementing joint initiatives in the agricultural sector and promoting new bilateral programs.
Both sides emphasized the importance of high-level political dialogue, mutual visits, and the development of parliamentary diplomacy. The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional peace and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
President Khachaturyan thanked the Japanese government for its continued support for efforts aimed at establishing peace in the region.
