Iran would face a response of unprecedented force if it attacks Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned, his official channel reported on January 27.
In his televised speech to the nation, which was broadcast on television and online, the Israeli Prime Minister began talking about returning hostages from Gaza, while also saying he met "dozens of times with the families of the hostages."
He said that Israel "hit Iran hard, hit its terror proxies hard" before adding that the Iranian axis is trying to recover.
Netanyahu stated Iran would commit a huge mistake if it attacks Israel, with a response of "such force that Iran has not yet known." The Israeli prime minister assured that in case of aggression, "Iran will not return to what it was before."
He added that surging anti-semitism around the world has stopped Israelis from complaining about attacks.
Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13, 2025, to which Iran responded with a counter-attack. After US intervention, Israel and Iran agreed to a ceasefire and concluded a truce, which has been in effect since June 24, 2025.
He confirmed that it was he who had stopped the establishment of the Palestinian state, adding that Israel would remain in control of the entirety of Israel.
The warning comes as significant US military assets deploy to the region. President Donald Trump told Axios on January 27 that Iran is seeking negotiations as the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group arrived.
"We have a big armada next to Iran. Bigger than Venezuela," Trump stated a day earlier.
The US military deployment includes 23 KC-135R Stratotanker refuelling aircraft at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, EA-37B Compass Call II electronic warfare aircraft and MQ-4C Triton UAVs at Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE.
Trump declined to discuss military options presented by his national security team but suggested diplomacy remained possible.
"They want to make a deal. I know so. They called on numerous occasions. They want to talk," he stated.
